"My aim is to be earnest and have integrity," says Zach Porter, primary songwriter of the alt-rock band The Tragic Thrills. "When I write songs 'for this band, I question every word because I want to make sure everything is honest." Sometimes on a record, the stories are just as important as the melodies. The Tragic Thrills manage to infuse a poignant narrative into meticulously crafted music. The band incorporates strands of rock, pop, folk, and country to create a modern and alternative take on those genres for their enthralling debut album. With powerful and thoughtful lyrics, it's hard to find a song on the album that isn't relatable to one's own life. In addition to Zach Porter (vocals, guitar), the band is comprised of Cameron Quiseng (bass), Chris Morrison (lead guitar), Ans Gibson (drums), and Gabe Rudner (keys). While still early in their careers, all five are already seasoned musicians with national and international touring experience and successful track records recording for major and independent labels.
The band is hitting the road this summer where their story will really begin to unfold.
