Notes / Reviews

Love Is Gone is the second studio album by American rock band, Dommin, released 2 February 2010 in the US and 15 February 2010 in the UK. Although it is their debut album under the Roadrunner Records label, Mend Your Misery, released four years prior, is their debut studio album overall. Six of the twelve tracks from Mend Your Misery were re-released on Love Is Gone; all of them, including their song "My Heart, Your Hands", being re-recorded or remixed for this album.

The song Remember is produced and mixed by Dutch DJ Junkie XL.

Artist/Band Information

Dommin is an American alternative rockhttp and gothic rockhttphttphttp band formed in Los Angeles, California; consisting of Kristofer Dommin on vocals and guitar, Billy James on bass, Konstantine on keyboards, and Cameron Morris on drums. Dommin has released two studio albums, Mend Your Misery, released independently in 2007, and their major label debut Love is Gone, released on February 2, 2010.

Background

The origins of Dommin can be traced back to 2000, when Kristofer formed the band in San Dimas, just outside of Los Angeles. He added Billy James as keyboardist two years later and the band's line-up began to take shape, but he eventually switched to bass when Konstantine joined in 2006. The last member to join Dommin was drummer Cameron Morris, who joined in 2007. By this time, Kristofer had already written many of the songs that would comprise Love Is Gone. They have supported Lacuna Coil and HIM on tour in 2010. They are playing the main stage at Download Festival 2010 on the Sunday of the festival.http

Lyrical Theme

Dommin's lyrics have a theme of heartbreak and narcissistic self discovery. "It's about finding love, losing love and personal reflection" Kristofer explains. "The majority of the music concerns love and relationships". Kristofer describes himself as "a storyteller..." Bassist Billy James says "The words and music are there for those misunderstood people who need to know that there is someone out there who feels the same."http
