Brooklyn musician and Red Bull Music Academy alum Sam Posner created El Niño & the Southern Oscillations as a meditation on the the Beauty and Power of the Ocean. The tracks flow through timeless electronica influenced by Selected Ambient era Aphex Twin and early Larry Heard as well as contemporary artists like Carribou and Jamie XX. Posner sketched the framework and palate for the project over a few years of travel, bringing the final EP together in a sea-side cabin watching waves crash against the rocky Maine coast. Visual artist Hisham Bharoocha provides the cover art for this, the fractured yet floating water a reflection of the sounds inside the sleeve.
