No need to wait for the behind the scenes story that created the success, it’s already here!  Tyscot asked Anthony Brown (of ANTHONY BROWN & group therAPy) to produce the sophomore album by RUTH LA’ONTRA!  After a face-to-face meeting between Brown and Ruth, the deal was sealed as Anthony was floored by her voice, energized by her potential and joyfully agreed to be the album's producer.  In addition, not only did Brown produce, he also wrote seven songs, co-wrote one with Ruth and another with his production partner Justin Savage; thus the album I GOT YOU was born!  The first radio single “Kingdom”, with its universal appeal, immediately grabbed the attention of gospel radio programmers out the gate earning eleven (11) adds, becoming the Billboard Gospel Most Added Song per issue date May 20, 2017!

From the title track “I Got You” that borrows from the hit sounds of the 60’s, to the soulful songs of “Safe,” and “Come Through” an undeniable signature sound was created.  Her inspired interpretation of the classic hymn “Tis So Sweet” and the remake of the gospel hit “In My Name” (made famous by Milton Brunson & the Thompson Community Singers) illustrate the sheer vocal beauty, command and control that RUTH LA’ONTRA displays, which is symbolic of a mature & seasoned veteran.  Music lovers worldwide will be elated in proclaiming to Ruth that I GOT YOU!
